Everybody should have a duck

Have you seen this? My cousin just sent it to me and it was great. If you need a smile, totally click play. Cause you know, I think the guy on the video is right, if more people had a duck, maybe we would all be nicer to one another. Cause you know, ducks are like the ties that bind..or something. Whatever, man, just click play. You will smile and be glad you did.

Just a little rambling

I know I said I was going to be a better blogger. I lied. Get over it. Sorry. I am just a little bit preoccupied with school. But rest assured, I am around. Kicking still.

Sunday:
I had to go to the hell otherwise known as Wal Mart. Good grief!!! If Disney World is the happiest place on earth, no doubt Wal Mart is absolute HELL on earth. So I took the kids because Mikey and Caitey needed fabric and foam fill to make pillows in Home Ec. (or as the PC crowd calls it, Family Consumer Science). Whatever. Freaking home ec. So of course the materials are due this week and as my normal, I waited until the last possible minute to purchase it. Then I made the mistake of going to Wally World for it. What was I thinking? I think the average IQ there today was around 64. Really. Just walking among half the patrons of that store is enough to make me want to end it all now.

After Wal Mart we spent the day studying(me) or watching football (Mike).

Monday:

MLK day. Kids off school. Nuf said. OK, maybe not. I am not a fan of kids off school days. I think they should have school every day. Nah, just kidding. I am OK with them having off school once in awhile but just not when I want to be home alone so I can study in peace.

Speaking of kids off school. How many schools are off tomorrow because of the inauguration? My mother was telling me that Baltimore city schools are closed tomorrow. I think that is a really asinine thing to do. Close schools for that? Have they ever closed schools in the past for an inauguration? Should schools have special luncheons to celebrate? NO! A resounding no. It is a huge waste of money and time and further more, again I ask, when did they ever call school for an inauguration in the past? When? Can you imagine if the McCain would have gotten in? Do you think they would be calling school for it? Having luncheons at school? I don't think so. Now come on, I get it. Black Americans in particular are proud of Obama. They are happy to finally have one of their own in the white house. That is fine. But I think all of the coverage, the parties, the pomp and circumstance that has already taken place is going way over the top. You couldn't pay me to be at that inauguration. And even though my school is also having a "party" with free lunch to celebrate, I will be missing that as well. Not that I am worried, I am sure I will see it replayed ad nauseam over the next few days months years.

OK, so on to
Menu Plan Monday!

Monday: spaghetti and meatballs
Tuesday: beef roast, mashed potatoes, spinach
Wed: Shepherds pie
Thur: hot beef sandwiches, oven fries
Fri: pizza for kids (Mike and I are going out)
Sat: Pizza?

Keep scrolling down to see what we did over the holidays in the much awaited debut new year post. Whatever, if you want, keep reading.

Loser!

I realize that I have not been posting much at all lately. I am sorry. I have tried, really I have but for some reason pictures have not posted and words have not flowed and well, I guess I was taking a little bloggy vacation. But I am back. For the time being anyway. I start back to school on Thursday and I am NOT looking forward to it at all. It will be a be-yach of a semester. OK, so for your entertainment, here are a few pictures from Christmas. They are not great, I was on a photography holiday as well. Sue me. But you get the general idea.

The first picture above, is after Santa arrived.
Waiting to come down to open presents. They were having fits because we make them wait until we get our coffee made, turn on the lights etc. And we pad a few extra minutes just to make them wiggle. It's fun.

Action shots, not my forte.
Mmmm...Hollister. Love it.
Don't shoot your eye out!(name that movie)

I stayed inside out of firing range when these three chuckle-heads went out to shoot their Red Ryder BB guns.

We spent a lot of time resting..Caitlyn is good at resting. Must be a teenager thing.

And wrestling with cousins.....Brooks and Seth
And looking like a princess....Love you Lucy!
Some of us watched way too much football. Not me because I hate football.
There was lots of giggling going on among some of my nieces. Jessica, Sydney and Mackenzie.
Some of us got a little too wild. Like my SIL Cindy. Kids, don't try this at home.Love ya Cin!
And some of the SIL's were just lovey dovey with one another. Love you Kitty and Patty!
Some little nephews had huge shit eating grins much like Nates..
We played with new toys...
Some of which we had to build first.
Somebody was hitting the spiked eggnog.
Yikes! I need a haircut!
Deep in thought...Mikey, my baby. He is 15 now. sniff sniff....
Happy Birthday Mikey! (we were actually singing to him for his birthday. Not sure why the photographer cut out the cake-we should fire that person).
Oh! There you go. As you can see, I was NOT the photographer.
We spent HOURS Literally putting together stuff. Like this star wars lego set that took like, I don't know, 5 hours? I look fabulous in my pajamas don't I? My butt hurt like you wouldn't believe after spending all that time sitting on a hard wooden bench. Yikes!
A proud moment, the ship has been launched.
We celebrated Mikes birthday as well. Aren't the decorations lovely?
So proud of our handiwork. We surprised mike with a dollar store birthday party. Everything, including his gifts came to a total of $10.00! Are you impressed? I am!

The end.
